William Fisher, 2004 Inductee
The on-site executive most responsible for guiding Fountain Hills through early day development and economic challenges, Mr. Fisher came to the community in 1971 as Project Manager for developer McCulloch Properties, Inc. He had worked for McCulloch out of its headquarters in Los Angeles as Director of Engineering and Development for its new planned communities in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho and Arkansas. When he arrived in Fountain Hills there was little more than the Fountain and park and massive grading work under way. He revised the entire plan of development, calling for a neighborhood concept in creating lots, and he took charge of the Chaparral City Water Company, supervising the wells and overseeing construction of water lines. He devised the flood control system to control heavy water flow and as head of the Committee of Architecture, he brought a new level of enforcement to the community’s deed restrictions
