Phil Graziano, 2011 Inductee
With the attitude I just do what I think is right, Mr. Gaziano is most noted for his efforts in establishing the program to install Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in the community. While serving as Chairman of the Fountain Hills Law Enforcement Advisory Panel, he initiated a program that began with the donation by Sheriff Joe Arpaio of two of the AEDs. There are now some 40 in use for emergencies in the town. It has already saved two lives. He has also built a long list of other ccomplishments since moving here from New York City in 1992. A graduate of St. John’s University, he first entered a financial career with Dun & Bradstreet, then switched to the food service industry. Upon moving to Fountain Hills in 1992, he went to work in real estate and is still with MCO Realty. Immediately he got involved in volunteer activities that benefit young people. For the past 10 years, he has been involved with the Pappas School for the Homeless Children. As a Rotarian, he worked on the committee that made the Rotary Centennial Splash Park a reality. As a member of the Golden Eagle Foundation board, he began a program that has resulted in the high school offering engineering classes.He is a member of the Fountain Hills Cultural and Civic Association Board, through which he chairs the poinsettia tree program each holiday season. He also serves on the North Heights Architectural Committee.
