Sharon Hutcheson, 2007 Inductee
The former nurse has served Fountain Hills well by contributing her time to the Town Council, McDowell Mountain Task Force, McDowell Park Association, River of Time Museum and the Fountain Hills Community Foundation. She also served on the Boys & Girls Club Advisory Committee and Sunridge Foundation Silent Auction Committee. During her four years on the Town Council, she was very active in the mountain preservation campaign, pushed for park improvements and getting the museum as part of the library bond package. She was the swing vote in the decision to build the Target shopping center. She also assisted the museum in obtaining town funding to complete the final displays. After completing her term on the council, she served three years on the Historical Society/museum board and collected auction prizes and raised funds for the museum’s bingo and spaghetti dinner fund-raisers. She also assisted the Sunridge Foundation with its fund-raising abilities. During her four-year term on the Planning and Zoning Commission, she was instrumental in having the Subdivision and Hillside Protection Ordinances rewritten. She is also a member of the Fountain Hills Republican Club.
