Dr. Paul Kolwaite, 2006 Inductee
A practicing dentist for 34 years, he moved to Fountain Hills in 1986 from upstate New York where he was quite active in volunteer activities. After relocating to Fountain Hills, Dr. Kolwaite continued volunteering. In 1989, he co-founded the Fountain Hills and Lower Verde Valley Historical Society and was its first president. He also was heavily involved in the development of the River of Time Musuem and serves on the Museum Foundation’s board and design committee. One of the first Chamber Ambassadors, he served as vice chairman of the Board of Adjustment, served on the Law Enforcement Advisory Panel, the Fountain Hills Safety Commission and was chairman of the Downtown Development Committee. He was president of the Fountain Hills Car Club and has been a member of the Noon and Sunset Kiwanis Clubs, Public Arts Committee, Cultural Council, Civic Association, FLAG (business group), Fountain Hills Library Association, Art League and the Verde Vaqueros. He was instrumental in renewing interest in the Botanical Garden which has become a very popular venue in Fountain Hills
