Legacy Award: Fountain Hills Ministerial Association

Fountain Hills Ministerial Association , 2014 Legacy Winner

The River of Time Museum Foundation is proud to announce the Fountain Hills Ministerial Association is the recipient of the fifth annual Legacy Award. Since its founding during the town’s early days, the Ministerial Association, has been represented by a variety of faiths as well as Christian denominational and non-denominational churches.
It was formed by four pastors joined together to offer encouragement and fellowship to one another. The four were Rev. Glenn Atchinson of the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church, Father Paul Slanina of the Catholic Church of the Ascension, Pastor  Jim Ulrikson of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church and Pastor Ed Mast of the Fountain Hills Community Church. Although all four of these men as founding members are now deceased, their legacy lives on through unity, fellowship and service of the Ministerial Association.
Today, the Ministerial Association organizes two community services each year, (Easter Sunrise and Thanksgiving) along with a baccalaureate service for Fountain Hills High School graduating seniors. It also administers a Good Samaritan Fund, in conjunction with the Extended Hands Food Bank, which helps out residents with short-term financial needs.
Participating churches are Christ’s Church of Fountain Hills, Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Four Peaks Community Church, Fountain Hills Christian Center, Trinity Lutheran Church, Anglican Church of the Atonement, Catholic Church of the Ascension and the Rio Verde Community Church.
