Lin Lundgaard, 2005 Inductee
After serving as a fighter pilot in World War II and a successful career that culminated in his position as vice president of sales for Cargill, Inc. of Minneapolis, Minn., this Rio Verde resident has been most active in that community’s affairs. Mr. Lundgaard has served as Treasurer and President of the Fountain Hills Rotary Club Foundation and successfully co-chaired the club’s fund-raising efforts for Fountain Hills Splash Park. He was named the club’s Rotarian of the Year in 2003. He also led the club’s effort to raise $15,000 for computers for Mexican high school students at Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos orphanage in Miatlin, Mexico. As president of the Rio Verde Community Church board of trustees, his committee raised over $2 million for a new sanctuary. He was the first sponsor of the ambitious Rio Verde Habitat for Humanity project, has volunteered as a mentor for five years in Fountain Hills elementary schools and is a member of the Phoenix Symphony board of directors.
