Jackie Miles, 2007 Inductee

A former first lady of Fountain Hills, she is another tireless volunteer. She has been a major supporter of the arts in Fountain Hills. She was the founder and first president of the Fountain Hills Arts Council (now known as the Fountan Hills Cultural & Civic Association). Her efforts led to the annual Choir Camp sponsored by the Cultural Council. She has also served on the boards of the Fountain Hills Cultural & Civic Association (past president) , Community Theater, Senior Services, Sister Cities Committee and Noon Kiwanis Club (past President) and the Boys and Girls Club Advisory Board of Fountain Hills. She has also served as a member of the Community Center Advisory Committee. She was one of the Visitation Committee members who traveled to Kasterlee, Belgium in 1998. The trip paved the way to having the two communities become Sister Cities. She was the driving force behind the holiday lighting program. The annual poinsettia tree display was another of her creations. She brought the idea for the brightly painted trash barrels around Fountain Park from a trip to South Africa. The originator of the In-Home Concert series, she and husband Jerry have hosted many of these concerts. She is also an elder with the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church. A talented performer, she has played the violin at many community events and sings in the church choir.
