Stuart Shoob, 2007 Inductee
Hired by the newly formed municipality of Fountain Hills as its first Town Magistrate, he served in that role from April 1990 until his retirement in June of 2002. During his administration, the Fountain Hills court was recognized as one of the outstanding courts in the state of Arizona, receiving superior ratings on a regular basis.Three years after retirement from the Court, Judge Shoob continues to be active in our community most recently offering free legal counseling at the Fountain Hills Senior Center. He attended North Phoenix High School, Arizona State College where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in political science. He then attended the University of Arizona receiving his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. He joined the Arizona National Guard while in law school and while practicing law in Phoenix, he rose to the rank of General. He was active in several civic organizations and held many additional positions. He was a City Prosecutor for the City of Phoenix, juvenile court referee, arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and acting director of the Arizona State Selective Service System.He was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and has successfully argued a case at that forum.
