Debbie Skehen, 2010 Inductee
Debbie Skehen is one of the busiest women in Fountain Hills. She and husband Joe moved to Fountain Hills in 1998.They immediately began volunteering in many community organizations. She joined the Chamber and became an Ambassador. She and her husband chaired the Ribbon Cutting Committee and developed the Member Relations Committee. They jointly received the Chamber Service Award in 2004. In 2001 she was elected to the board of the Golden Eagle Foundation and served as secretary from 2002 to 2006.The couple joined the Fountain Hills and Lower Verde Valley Historical Society in 2001 as life members. She was elected to the board in 2003 and is the current president. She has been very active with the Fountain Hills Republican Club, served as club secretary from 2001 to 2008 and was treasurer of the Fountain Lake Republican Women’s Club from 2002 to 2004. They were named Republicans of the Year by the Fountain Hills club in 2007 and have assisted numerous candidates with their campaigns.
